How do we build Self-Confidence?
And how do we teach our children to have self-confidence?
Our kids constantly learn through role modeling
and day-to-day interactions; frustratingly, our unconscious, unwanted behaviors and patterns influence and shape them. Ugh, yes, a horrid thought. Of course, we learned these patterns from our parents and caregivers when we were little. Most of us were not taught how to build self-confidence, resilience or self-empowerment - not in school, nor at home. Today, these skills are emerging in schools and our culture. But we don't know how to do this for ourselves, how can we expect to help our children to learn and be the amazing people they were born to be? We can't. So, how do you build your own self-confidence? First and foremost, we need to understand how our brains work. We are wired to seek safety and comfort. Only when we understand the ways in which our brains operates, can we then begin to strategize steps to take to counteract old behaviors and replace them with new ones - ones that help build self-confidence. This is what I do. As a coach and workshop facilitator, I teach parents, educators and students how we are wired and what tools we can use to replace behaviors that don't serve us well. Let's have a conversation as to how this may help you in turn to help the children in your life. Contact me, button below: |
